Our Vision and Mission
The vision for Art Transforms Conflict started in 2015 when the question, "what are your dreams?" was posed to a group of young women in a refugee camp. Their answer? " No one has ever asked us that before."
Our mission is not only to ask the question, but to provide opportunities for DREAMS to become possibilities!
To strengthen communities by opening new creative paths to dialogue.
"When our creative side is engaged, our defense mechanisms are lowered. This offers the possibility, if only for a moment, to let ourselves walk in the shoes of the other. The more we discuss our differences, the more we discover our similarities.”
What We Do
We offer leadership and conflict management training for women and youth through creative communication methods, including intercultural dialogue, empathic non-violent communication, and facilitation skills.
Where We Work
We work with communities challenged by social, cultural and political conflict. Our trainings to date have taken us from North America to the Middle East.
